Each spring, the Ohio Library Council hosts dinner meetings throughout the state for public library trustees and administrators. These events are interactive venues for library representatives to get essential information as they work toward serving their communities in the years ahead.
The programs focus on the issues impacting today’s public libraries and include an update on legislative issues as well as additional information that public library trustees need to be successful in their roles.
The OLC Trustee Dinners are a great opportunity for library trustees to share information and ideas with their counterparts throughout the region. It’s a chance to learn more about the challenges and opportunities ahead for Ohio’s public libraries.

Laurie Gombash, a Physical Therapist with a Master’s in Special Education, has created a unique learning system that uses movement to teach literacy skills. During this 60-minute webinar, she will share why movement is key to learning, how to incorporate her unique approach into storytime, books to share that encourage movement and learning, and information on how to purchase her ABCs of Movement cards. Ohio Revised Code Section 3503.10 designates Ohio’s public libraries as voter registration locations. With this designation comes additional responsibilities. Join OLC staff and a representative from Ohio Secretary of State’s Office for a short webinar to learn about the requirements for public libraries. Utilize this free webinar as an opportunity to educate library staff on the do’s and don’ts as we prepare for a busy general election cycle.
