Program Overview: Gather successful collaborative ideas from colleagues and share your library’s successful outreach initiatives with others. Come prepared to refresh, rejuvenate, and revitalize your library’s outreach programs and services!
Intended Audience: All library staff members interested in outreach services.
Continuing Education Credits: For those working toward their Ohio Public Librarian or Ohio Public Library Staff re-certification, this conference will count as five (5) contact hours of credit.
Online Event Instructions: The Ohio Library Council will present this program via Zoom. The link will be emailed to all registrants 2 days prior to the event.

Many libraries have kits that they use in programming from early childhood to seniors. Sally Inglett from MeTernally will share with us information about using kits and other memory resources with older adults.

Presenters: Ann Plazek, Medina County District Library and Rose Shaddy, Library Administrator, Ohio Department of Rehab and Corrections
From the Inside to the Outside is a partnership between the Medina County Sheriff’s Department and the Medina County District Public Library. The goal of this program is to educate incarcerated parents about the programs and services provided by the library that can help them prepare their children for success and then provide them with an opportunity to share a book with their child. Learn how you can reach out to your local prison to assist inmates with their reentry process.

Presenter: Helka Casey, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Psychiatric Counselor
Outreach patrons for the most part are caring individuals that we get attached to after bring materials to them over the years. Taking care of yourself is important, but in the world of Outreach it becomes essential so that you don’t suffer from compassion fatigue and burnout. This session will discuss tips on how to practice self-care.
