The Library Card Connect Program at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library System is a new partnership with local businesses to offer library cardholders special discounts on purchases made at those businesses. Each participating business sets its own discount that they are offering – such as 10% off, $1 off purchase of one item, or buy one, get one half off. Patrons just have to show their library card to get that discount.

The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County completed its Nutcracker StoryWalk on Fourth Street in January. Each year, a local business creates 200 life-size nutcrackers and showcases them throughout Steubenville’s downtown area during the holiday season. To join in the community’s festivities, the library created a special StoryWalk and placed the pages outside along downtown business store fronts, designed a map to follow along, and provided prizes for children to pick up at the library when finished reading the story.
