First Lady Dr. Jill Biden and Institute for Museum and Library Services Director Crosby Kemper officially presented the National Medal to the Toledo Lucas County Public Library during a ceremony at the White House on July 17.
Washington-Centerville Public Library is hosting The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and a mobile Education Center at Yankee Park. The Wall That Heals is a traveling exhibit honoring the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. armed forces in the Vietnam War. It bears the names of the 58,281 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam.

Ashland Public Library is hosting a Science Lab themed escape room for students in grades 6-12.
The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County‘s Summer Reading Program theme this year is Tails and Tales. As part of the events, the local humane society and animal shelter provided the library with a tower to temporarily house 2-3 kittens at a time for the public to view and adopt during the months of June and July. The organization visits the library once per day to feed the cats and clean the cage. They also put a container for the public to make donations for supplies needed by the shelter. The library is happy to report that kittens are being adopted!
Friends of Rodman Public Library had its annual show of strength this week, when a group of University of Mount Union football players helped move books, games and other items that will be part of the group’s annual Used Book Sale.
