Library Trustee Workshop: Registration Now Open

The OLC will host the Library Trustee Workshop on Sat., March 4, from 8:45 a.m. – 4:15 p.m. Participants can attend the workshop in person at the OLC office in Dublin (Northwest Columbus) or online with the same access to workshop content. Although designed for relatively new library trustees, those with years of experience will find this workshop to be a good refresher.

The workshop will focus on what every library trustee needs to know, including:

  • How to be an effective board member and how to work with the library director and staff.
  • Making sense of your library’s finances and understanding how libraries are funded in Ohio.
  • Updates on legislative issues at the Statehouse including the Public Library Fund (PLF).
  • Answers to legal questions library trustees often ask.
  • OLC services available to trustees.

In addition, all participants will receive a free copy of the Ohio Public Library Trustees’ Handbook. The registration fee is $95 for trustees and staff of OLC Institutional Member Libraries (Non-member fee: $190). The agenda and speaker information is available on the OLC website.
