Libraries Help and Honor Veterans
Washington-Centerville Public Library is hosting a “History of the Military” exhibit this weekend. The exhibit opened yesterday with a local veteran Ralph Young, who talked about his years serving in the Pacific as a gunner’s mate on the USS J. Franklin Bell during WWII. The library will also pay a special tribute to the United States Air Force for its 75th Anniversary.
Wright Memorial Public Library is helping the community create holiday cards to send to active duty military members.
Findlay-Hancock County Public Library hosted a program this week with the Hancock County Veterans Service Office and a representative from the Department of Veterans Affairs to share information with local veterans and their families.
Coshocton Public Library partnered with Coshocton County Veterans Services, Blue Star Mothers Ohio Chapter 59, and Operation Veterans Helping Veterans to offer a special program for all county veterans.
Columbus Metropolitan Library is partnering with the National Veterans Memorial and Museum (NVMM) to offer library cardholders up to four discounted admission tickets to the NVMM.
Dover Public Library is hosting a program about the history of Arlington National Cemetery.
