OLC Hosts Free Webinar on BroadbandOhio Grants

The pandemic forced the nation to acknowledge an issue public libraries recognized long ago — the digital divide. We know there are still many areas in this state where residents do not have access to reliable high-speed internet. Recent legislation passed at the Ohio Statehouse is meant to address this issue through grants. The state’s new grant program is administered by BroadbandOhio, a division of the Ohio Department of Development.

The OLC is hosting a free webinar on Mon., Oct. 4 at 1:30 p.m. with Peter Voderberg, Chief of BroadbandOhio, on the new grant program. Public libraries are in a unique position to help their local communities bridge the digital divide. During this webinar, you will learn more about the grant opportunities and how public libraries can partner with others to provide reliable, high-speed internet access to their communities.
