Webinar Overview:
The pandemic forced the nation to acknowledge an issue public libraries recognized long ago — the digital divide. We know there are many areas in this state where residents do not have access to reliable high-speed internet.

Recent legislation passed at the Ohio Statehouse is meant to address this issue through grants to internet service providers to fund the construction of broadband projects in unserved and underserved areas of the state. The program is administered by BroadbandOhio, a division of the Ohio Department of Development.

Public libraries are in a unique position to help their local communities bridge the digital divide. During this webinar, you will hear directly from BroadbandOhio about the new grant program at the state level and how public libraries can partner with others in their community to improve access to reliable high-speed internet.

Presenters: Peter Voderberg, Chief, BroadbandOhio and Michelle Francis, Executive Director, Ohio Library Council

If you are unable to participate in the live presentation, the webinar will be recorded and posted on the OLC website.
