Ohioans Approve 100% of Public Library Levy Issues on Primary Ballot

On May 8, voters approved all 10 public library issues on local ballots around Ohio. The successful library ballot issues included four new levies, five renewals, and one renewal with an increase. The average voter approval rating for the 10 issues was 68 percent.

In the past four election cycles, a total of 52 public library levy issues have appeared on the ballot and 100% have been approved by local voters. The revenue from these local property tax levies will provide financial support for libraries’ programs and services, and complement the state funding of public libraries.
