Nearly 4,000 library staff members from around the world have come to Columbus this week for the International Federation of Library Association’s (IFLA) 82nd World Library and Information Congress at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Representing 145 countries, the attendees have had the opportunity to participate in hundreds of educational sessions, plenary sessions, cultural exchanges, and social activities as well as visit with more than 90 vendors in the exhibit hall.

Hosted by National Planning Committee Co-Chairs Patrick Losinski, Chief Executive Officer of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, and Carol Pitts Diedrichs, Professor and Director Emeritus of The Ohio State University Libraries, the event has been a great opportunity to showcase Columbus and many of the fine public, academic, special and corporate libraries in the city and around the state.

Ohio public libraries on the IFLA tour schedule include the Bexley Public Library, Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County – Main, Columbus Metropolitan Library and four of its branches and operation center, Cuyahoga County Library, Dayton Metro Libraries, Delaware County District Library – Orange Branch, Upper Arlington Public Library, Westerville Public Library, and the Toledo Lucas County Public Library including its Mobile Technology Center.
