Local Library Champion Award
LOCAL LIBRARY CHAMPION
Recognizes exceptional volunteer service of an individual or group to a library community through sustained support and advocacy, innovative leadership, and/or imaginative and effective activities which increase community awareness of the library and its mission, vision, and core values.
Requirements:
Award is volunteer driven, such as, but not limited to: Trustees, Board of Trustees, Friends, volunteer(s), or members of the local community.
Criteria:
Individual or group has demonstrated: 1) Sustained support and advocacy; 2) Active and innovative leadership or imaginative activities; and 3) Ability to increase community awareness of the library and its mission, vision, and core values.

Nomination Checklist:
As a nominator, the success of your nominee rests largely with your ability to answer the following questions:
- Why are you nominating this person or group? [Word limit: 50]
- How does the nominee(s) sustain support, advocacy and innovative leadership in their local community? [Word limit: 300]
- How has the person or group supported the mission, vision or core values of the library? [Word limit: 300]
- Share examples of how the person or group supports imaginative and effective activities which increase community awareness of their local library. [Word limit: 300]
As a nominator, you will need to:
(1) Obtain 3-5 testimonials from:
- Library board
- Library director
- Library staff
- Community leaders
- Patrons
- Community groups
- Coalition and/or project partners
Be prepared to upload these testimonials. PDF format preferred (max. file size: 1MB).
(2) Share your individual’s or group’s list of accomplishments or individual’s resume, CV, etc. Copy and paste this information into the online form or upload a document. PDF format preferred (max. file size: 1MB). You can also provide a link to the Nominee’s website or links to articles, news releases, and other supporting documents that demonstrate the nominee’s impact on the library, its programs and/or projects.
