Ohioans approved all 15 public library issues on the Nov. 2, 2021 ballot. The levies passed with the average voter approval rate of 67%.

On November 2, voters approved all of the public library issues on local ballots around Ohio. The successful library ballot issues included 13 renewals, one additional/new, and one renewal with an increase. The levies passed with the average voter approval rate of 67 percent.

The revenue from these local property tax levies will provide financial support for libraries’ programs and services and complement the state funding of public libraries.

“We are grateful that Ohioans continue to invest in their public libraries during these challenging times,” said Michelle Francis, Executive Director, Ohio Library Council. “From expanding digital collections to distributing at-home COVID testing kits, our libraries have stepped up in amazing ways during the pandemic. It’s gratifying to see voters recognize the value of their local libraries and we realize how fortunate we are to receive this overwhelming support.”
