OLC Provides Testimony in Support of Online Voter Registration

The Ohio Library Council submitted proponent testimony on Senate Bill (SB) 63, which would create an online voter registration system through the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office. The testimony was submitted to the House Government Accountability and Oversight Committee. OLC voiced its support of a secure online process for voter registration, especially since Ohio already designates public libraries as voter registration sites. Some additional changes were made to the bill including delaying implementation until 2017 and removing certain political party affiliation language. SB 63 could be on the House floor next week.
