Convention and Expo: Call for Programs

The OLC is now accepting program proposal submissions for the 2018 Convention and Expo, Oct. 3-5, at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Sandusky. Please consider contacting one of the OLC’s Divisions or Committees to sponsor your submission.

2018 Theme | Strengthening Our Core
A strong library can strengthen the core of the whole community. This starts with an exceptional staff and a commitment to providing the best possible services based on the unique needs of the community. What constitutes a core service can vary from one town to the next, but the essential skills of the profession are tied to a set of core competencies. By focusing on these core competencies, the 2018 Convention and Expo will inspire new ways to explore and strengthen your library’s core services and provide an opportunity for you to enhance your knowledge and skills to the meet the challenges we face now and in the future.

The educational programming for the Convention and Expo will include nationally recognized keynote speakers, a series of learning tracks that focus on different areas of library service, special events, and time for attendees to visit booths in the exhibit hall. Presenters at the Convention include a mix of paid speakers and volunteers from the library community.

Deadline for submitting program proposals is Feb. 14, 2018.
