From virtual storytimes to parking lot Wi-Fi, Ohio’s public libraries continue to adapt and expand services during the pandemic. The OLC’s Awards and Honors program is the perfect way to recognize the remarkable achievements of public library staff, friends groups and trustees during this unprecedented year. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the innovative and dedicated people who make Ohio’s libraries successful even during difficult times.

The Awards and Honors program covers every type of position within the library community, including customer service staff, community engagement coordinators, emerging leaders, friends groups and trustees. Nominations are open now through April 30, 2021. Detailed award descriptions, eligibility information, and nomination instructions are available on the OLC website – including a new video tutorial. If you have an amazing co-worker or team in mind, please review the categories now and think about a deserving colleague.

Please note: The Awards and Honors Committee did not present awards in 2020 due to the pandemic and its impact on library operations, staffing and services. All 2020 nominations will be deferred to 2021. Nominators will be able to provide additional materials in 2021 for the candidates they nominated in 2020.
