COVID-19 and Stress: Mental Health Strategies for Your Patrons and Yourself will be held online on Wed., Oct. 14, from 10-11 a.m.

We’ve heard from our members and we know this is a stressful time for everyone. In response to that, the OLC is teaming up with the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services to provide a one-hour webinar on how to cope with anxiety and manage stress during these difficult times.

The webinar will be held on Wed., Oct. 14 from 10-11 a.m. and is free for OLC members and staff of OLC Institutional Member Libraries. Even before COVID-19, 48% of Americans reported having some level of stress. And the onset of this pandemic has certainly increased the amount in everyone’s daily lives. This webinar will help you gain a better understanding of why we suffer, how to better interact with patrons and co-workers, and what you can do now to support your well being.

You will learn more about common stress reactions, how to work with an anxious public during these difficult times, and strategies for reducing stress and anxiety at work and at home. If you are unable to attend the live presentation, this webinar will be recorded and posted on the OLC website.
