Ohioans Approve 100% of Public Library Issues

On May 7, voters approved all five public library issues on local ballots around Ohio. The successful library ballot issues included two new levies and three renewals. The average voter approval rating was 74 percent.

The revenue from these local property tax levies will provide financial support for library programs and essential services, and complement the state funding of public libraries.

“Ohioans continue to express their strong support for public libraries at the polls,” said Douglas Evans, Executive Director, Ohio Library Council. “Yesterday’s election results once again prove that the majority of voters consider public libraries a priority and are willing to provide them with the financial resources necessary to serve their communities.”
