Registration Now Open for Innovative Ideas During the Pandemic Webinar

When Ohio’s public libraries closed their buildings in March to help stop the spread of the coronavirus, library staff quickly came up with ways to continue to serve their communities. Libraries are masters at adapting and this crisis only fueled their creativity. The OLC will host a free webinar this summer on some of the amazing ideas implemented at Ohio’s public libraries during the pandemic. Creativity in Quarantine: Innovative Library Ideas During the Pandemic will be held Thurs., August 20 at 10 a.m. Topics include:

  • Makerspace initiatives — creating PPE, video instruction, sign and floor decal production
  • Youth initiatives including providing free food at library branches and shifting popular programs online.
  • Digital inclusion initiatives — WiFi hotspot distribution to schools and Chromebook distribution to senior living centers
  • Workforce development initiatives including Facebook Live Lunch and Learn events and providing job search assistance from home

During this webinar, you’ll learn more about these creative ideas and how to implement them at your library in spite of the current pandemic and the challenges it presents.
