The OLC is offering a special webinar this summer to promote diversity and inclusion within the library profession. Advancing Racial Equity within Public Libraries: A Conversation with Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely will be held on Thurs., Aug. 6 at 11 a.m.

This is a first in a series of educational programs that will cover challenging issues of racial equity and social justice. This webinar is designed as an introduction to the concepts of power, identity, and oppression, and how they impact public library staff, services, programs, collections, and spaces. The goal is to foster conversations about racism and implicit bias through the themes and topics in the novel All American Boys, co-written by  Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely.

The registration fee is $25 for OLC members ($50 for non-members). If you would like to use this webinar as a professional development training for your staff, the OLC is offering discounted group rates for OLC Institutional Member Libraries.
