Library administrators and trustees are an integral part of the OLC’s grassroots advocacy efforts. As an advocate, you play a key role in educating your community about why libraries are essential. The OLC has created a variety of resources and tools to help educate our communities about why Ohio’s public libraries are essential.
Regional Advocacy Training
Through tools, training, and education, the OLC is committed to providing library directors with information and resources to become effective advocates for public libraries.
Join library directors, fiscal officers and trustees as we put a local face on the impact public libraries make all across the state. Each year, the OLC holds a Legislative Day at the Ohio Statehouse in downtown Columbus.
OLC Legislative Network
The Legislative Network supports the OLC in its advocacy efforts on behalf of public libraries. Find your Legislative Network contact (PDF).
OLC Government Relations Committee
The Government Relations Committee develops the OLC legislative platform, analyzes legislative issues that could potentially impact Ohio’s public libraries and the customers they serve, and advises staff the advocacy strategy to serve the best interest of Ohio’s public library community.
Statewide ROI Report
The OLC conducted a statewide return on investment study of Ohio’s public libraries and the economic benefit they provide to Ohio and its residents.
