Pricey commercial databases can be out of reach for many libraries, especially as our budgets shrink. How can we provide our patrons with quality information if we can’t afford these costs? This webinar will highlight a number of free online resources that anyone can access, and that can replace some or all of the functionality of familiar commercial databases.
- You will learn more about free online resources that are applicable to a variety of queries received while working the library desk.
- Topics covered include Readers’ Advisory, Literary Criticism, History and Geography, Science, Careers and Self Education, Reading and Writing, Health, Genealogy, and Consumer Resources.
- You will gain a better understanding of the resources available that can help with starting a search when you are unfamiliar with a particular topic.
