Program Overview:
The Ohio Library Council will host a live, hour-long webinar with renowned librarian, literary critic, book advocate, and ardent lifelong reader Nancy Pearl about her new book, The Writer’s Library: The Authors You Love on the Books That Changed Their Lives. This book is an amazing collection of interviews with 23 exceptionally gifted writers and is co-written with noted playwright Jeff Schwager.

In her first-ever webinar with OLC, Nancy will talk with Adult Services Division Coordinator Sarah Osinsky about the books that made these authors think, brought them joy, and changed their lives. She’ll also talk about the books she’s reading (and listening to!) right now and what it’s like to be the inspiration for the “shushing” librarian action figure. With Nancy’s irresistible charm and undeniable knowledge, this is bound to be a memorable hour of fun and great ideas!

If you are unable to attend the live presentation, this webinar will be recorded and posted on the OLC website.

Presenters: Nancy Pearl and Sarah Osinsky, Collection Development Librarian, Geauga County Public Library and Coordinator of OLC’s Adult Services Division.

Intended Audience: Library staff specializing in reader’s advisory

What’s Included: Participation in the live webinar and/or access to the archived version at a later date, resources (if applicable) provided by the presenters. If time allows, there will be Q&A.

Continuing Education Credits: For those working toward their Ohio Public Librarian or Ohio Public Library Staff re-certification, this webinar counts as (1) continuing education contact hour of credit.
