Reaching out to legislators can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. Through tools, training, and education, the OLC is committed to providing you with information and resources to help you become an effective advocate for public libraries. This session will focus on everything library directors need to know about advocating on behalf of their library and working with members of Ohio’s General Assembly.

The training will include tips for engaging with legislators about policy and funding needs as well as tools and resources that are available. You will leave this session with a better understanding of how legislative action works, how to add to the conversations, and the confidence to speak up for Ohio’s public libraries. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with your peers and learn how to effectively communicate with legislators!
