Resources Available to Combat Racism and Xenophobia

The shootings in Atlanta were shocking and heartbreaking. Six of the eight people whose lives were lost were of Asian descent. This comes at a time when reports of violence against Asian Americans are on the rise nationwide.

Since the first report of coronavirus on American soil, Asian Americans, especially Chinese Americans, have endured physical and economic abuse at the hands of their classmates, neighbors, and fellow citizens. The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee has compiled resources to help libraries respond to current events, stop hate, and build communities where differences are valued, respected and honored. This information is continually updated and available on the OLC website at olc.org/racial-equity.
