Today is Census Day!

Because Librarians Believe That Everyone Counts graphicDespite the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the U.S. government is still urging Americans to complete the 2020 Census.  Since 1930, Census Day has been April 1. The day serves as a reference point for where anyone who fills out the Census was living at that time.

By now, households should have received a postcard in the mail from the Census Bureau with a 12-digit census ID that will allow them to log on to my2020census.gov to complete the questionnaire. Individuals can also respond via phone by calling (844) 330-2020.

As you know, Ohio’s public libraries have spent months preparing for the 2020 Census. But even though our buildings are closed right now, we can still inform and engage our communities through library websites and social media platforms. Take advantage of the tools and graphics at olc.org/census to make sure all Ohioans are counted.
