Ohio Libraries Hold Events for In-Demand Jobs Week

Many public libraries across the state will be hosting special events May 6-10, 2019 in conjunction with In-Demand Jobs Week. These events will give students and job seekers the opportunity to learn more about rewarding jobs and high-demand careers that are available locally. In addition to hosting job fairs and showcasing Lynda.com educational courses, libraries will offer mock interviews, job search assistance, and career counseling.

More than 200 jobs in Ohio are considered “in demand,” based on labor market information, job postings on OhioMeansJobs.com, JobsOhio regional forecasts and employer forecasts. Ohio’s public libraries play an integral role in the state’s workforce system and are a key source of job and career support for their communities.

Libraries across the state are using this week to showcase their job training and education programs and the ways in which they connect Ohio employers with qualified workers.

A list of libraries with events during In-Demand Jobs Week is available on the OLC website.
