OLC Signs on as Partner in Ohio Opioid Education Alliance

At its meeting on Fri., Sept. 14, the OLC Board of Directors unanimously approved the OLC’s participation as a partner in the Ohio Opioid Education Alliance. The Alliance is composed of more than 30 Ohio businesses, universities, non-profit organizations, and trade and professional associations that are committed to supporting the effort to educate Ohioans about the dangers of opioid addiction and the impact it’s having on communities throughout the state. The Ohio Opioid Education Alliance is currently underwritten by the Nationwide Insurance Foundation.

As an official Alliance partner, the OLC will encourage its member libraries to share information with their staffs and the 8.5 million public library cardholders in Ohio that they serve. Within the coming weeks, the OLC will provide guidance on how libraries can implement the awareness/education campaign, including the use of materials that are based on the fictional town of Denial, Ohio.
