Registration Now Open for Summer Outreach Retreat

Outreach vehicles, like the Pop-Up Library from Grandview Heights Public Library, will be on display during the Outreach Retreat.

Get ready to refresh, rejuvenate, and revitalize your library’s outreach programs and services! Registration is now open for the 2018 Outreach and Special Services RetreatFri., Aug. 3, from 9:45 a.m. – 3:05 p.m. at the State Library of Ohio in Columbus.

Sponsored by the Outreach and Special Services Division, this program will cover a variety of topics from working with customers with dementia to dealing with compassion fatigue. Gather successful collaborative ideas from around the state and share your library’s successful outreach initiatives with others.

Other topics during the retreat include school service, STEAM, managing outreach, incarcerated programming, senior programming, ideas for small libraries, bookmobiles, and more. In addition to the education programming, several outreach vehicles will be on display in the parking lot of the State Library. Tour the vehicles and talk with staff members that operate them every day.

The registration fee for the retreat is $30 for members (non-member fee: $60). Please note that enrollment is limited to 75 participants. The deadline is register is July 27.
