Library Leaders Join OLC’s Advocacy Efforts at Statehouse

Dayton staff photoMore than 250 library administrators, trustees and friends met in Columbus today for  OLC’s Legislative Day. Library supporters spent the morning at the Capital Club listening to legislative briefings and presentations from Ryan Burgess, Director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation, and Rep. Scott Ryan (R-Newark), Vice-Chairman of the Ohio House Finance Committee. The rest of the day was spent at the Statehouse, where members of the Ohio General Assembly heard first-hand about the the life-changing work of libraries. Right in the middle of National Library Week, this event was a great way to show how Ohio’s public libraries lead their communities through the transformative services, programs, and expertise they offer.

You can see pictures from today’s events on the OLC’s Facebook and Twitter pages. You can also join the conversation by using the hashtag #OHLibrariesLead.
