Intellectual Freedom Committee Creates Adventure Game for Banned Books Week

Banned Books iconBy focusing on efforts across the country to remove or restrict access to books, Banned Books Week draws national attention to the harms of censorship. The OLC’s Intellectual Freedom Committee has created a “choose your own adventure” game in honor of Banned Books Week (Sept. 24-30, 2017).

The game asks you to rescue titles from the “Prison for Banned Books” with 12 possible paths to follow and up to seven actions to get to any end. The idea is that no one should have to feel like they have to break into a prison in order to read something that they might enjoy.

The Banned Books Prison Escape Adventure is available online and as an Alexa skill.
