Purpose and Objectives |
The purpose of the Small Libraries Division is to represent the interests of and provide a forum for administrators, staff members, and trustees of small libraries on issues of particular concern to small libraries in Ohio.
A small library as defined by the Small Libraries Division includes but is not limited to libraries that meet the following criteria – (revised 11/04)
An operating budget under $1,000,000.
A service population of less than 20,000.
1. To create a support network for new directors of small libraries.
Assign members of Action Council to counties for contact by April 2010
2. To promote and encourage active involvement of the Small Libraries Division membership.
Conduct a survey of members to determine appropriate topics for training and/or meetings of interest to small libraries
Continue Small Libraries...BIG Ideas! Blog. Attempt to have at least six new articles posted during 2010.
3. To provide programming for members.
Host at least 2 online discussions on topics of interest to small libraries
Determine additional topics for forums and/or training based on results of survey. Plan one program for second half of year.
