Purpose and Objectives |
The purpose of the Small Libraries Division is to represent the interests of and provide a forum for administrators, staff members, and trustees of small libraries on issues of particular concern to small libraries in Ohio.
A small library as defined by the Small Libraries Division includes but is not limited to libraries that meet the following criteria – (revised 11/04)
• An operating budget under $1,000,000.
• A service population of less than 20,000.
1. To create a support network for new directors of small libraries.
• Assign members of Action Council to counties for contact by April 2010
2. To promote and encourage active involvement of the Small Libraries Division membership.
• Conduct a survey of members to determine appropriate topics for training and/or meetings of interest to small libraries
• Continue Small Libraries...BIG Ideas! Blog. Attempt to have at least six new articles posted during 2010.
3. To provide programming for members.
• Host at least 2 online discussions on topics of interest to small libraries
• Determine additional topics for forums and/or training based on results of survey. Plan one program for second half of year.
