Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA)
Information Kit
The Ohio Library Council's ad hoc committee on the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) has had prepared four documents that will help guide directors and trustees to determine a course of action for their libraries. The documents include information on technology protection measures, intellectual freedom issues, frequently-asked questions and compliance certification.
In issuing this report, the OLC re-emphasizes its long-held position that Internet access policies are the purview of local library boards of trustees. This is an important responsibility and one that requires a commitment to community standards and the values of free speech.
The committee hopes you will find this information useful. If you have any questions about the material or committee process, contact the ad-hoc committee chair, Holly Carroll.
